LES International (LESI) is a global organization connecting professionals worldwide around the commercial, strategic, technical and legal aspects of intellectual assets.
LESI is the international umbrella organization for the LES network, linking national and regional LES societies across all major regions and markets. For members of LES Scandinavia, LESI represents access to a functioning global community of practitioners working with intellectual assets in their specific legal, business and innovation environments.
Through international conferences, regional meetings and digital platforms, LESI enables direct interaction with peers from around the world. These exchanges provide practical insight into how intellectual assets are created, managed, protected and commercialized across jurisdictions and industries. The value of the network lies not only in its global reach, but in the ability to engage with experienced professionals facing similar challenges in different regulatory and commercial contexts.
A central part of LESI’s international activity takes place within its committees. These bring together professionals from across the globe who share a specific interest in areas such as SEP:s, valuation, technology transfer, emerging technologies or copyright. The committees offer focused, working-level forums for collaboration, knowledge sharing and relationship-building, allowing members to grow their personal international networks and deepen their expertise while contributing to the collective development of best practices in the field of intellectual assets.
Each spring, somewhere in the world, Licensing Executives Society International hosts its annual international conference, combining high-level professional content with an engaging and social atmosphere that brings together several hundred professionals from around the world to connect, learn, exchange ideas and build lasting relationships.
The LESI Annual Conference takes place around April each year and spans two full days packed with high level content. It attracts participants from all continents, representing a wide range of industries, roles and perspectives related to intellectual assets. The conference programme combines inspiring keynote presentations from well-known speakers with parallel tracks offering in-depth, often interactive sessions, allowing participants to tailor their experience based on interests and professional focus. Beyond the formal program, the international conference is equally recognized for its strong social dimension.
A defining feature of the conference is the breadth and quality of its content. Each year, the programme is curated through an extensive selection process, drawing on several hundred proposals submitted by LES Societies and LESI Committees. This ensures that the agenda reflects current developments, emerging challenges and practical experiences from across jurisdictions and markets, while maintaining a strong practitioner-driven perspective. Special attention is given to younger professionals through the Young Members Congress (YMC). Dedicated YMC sessions provide tailored opportunities for members under 40, while also creating natural entry points into the wider international LES community and its activities.
The LESI Annual Conference rotates between continents, reinforcing its global character and offering regional insight year by year. Recent and upcoming locations include Asia (Singapore, 2025), Europe (Dublin, Ireland, 2026), the Americas (Orlando, Florida, USA, 2027), with the conference returning to Asia in 2028. Together, these events form a central pillar of the LESI network—where professional exchange, global perspectives and genuine personal connections come together.
